The Assunto Dukes on WWL-TV.

The Assunto Dukes at Houma’s House April 23rd.

This past year at the Bourbon O Bar we’ve had the pleasure of meeting some really great people that were in the Club enjoying the music and legacy of the Assunto Brothers. This past Friday the 24th we had the fortune of meeting Diana Six and her husband who were heading back to Iowa early in the morning. As you can see they stayed late dancing the night away.

Facebook “LIVE” from January 2oth

The Assunto Dukes welcomed special guest Rob Pearce from the U.K. January 20th.

Keeping with the tradition of Frank, Freddie, Papa Jac and “The Dutchess” Betty Owens, The Assunto Dukes kept it all in the family on September 9th, with Jack Pritchett’s mom sitting in on the drums.  Please watch until the end to see her reward from drummer L.G. Sullivan!

Live Dixieland Jazz in Metairie provided a PACKED HOUSE at Mo’s Chalet Sunday August 14th. The Assunto Dukes look forward to a return engagement in the near future! Enjoy some video from Mo’s Chalet below.

One of the great things about playing the French Quarter regularly on Friday nights, is the fact that you get to make new friends. Case in point. Heidi flew in from Seattle, and met her friend, and our new pal, Craig, at The Bourbon “O” Friday night, April 29th. Check out Heidi’s reaction to Craig’s dance moves! Always great crowds at The Bourbon O Bar.

Assunto Dukes play to enthusiastic crowd during French Quarter Fest!

It was a great night for The Assunto Dukes, at the Bourbon O Bar during French Quarter Fest, Friday April 22nd.  It was spectacular to see so many familiar faces and musicians from across the country, and even across the globe. It was a memorable event for the band and the extended Assunto family. Also, it was a treat to be joined again by trombone ace Ben Herrick on the bandstand.   Thanks very much to everyone helping to keep the music alive!

Recorded live Friday March 4th at The Bourbon O Bar, 730 Bourbon Street.

What A Day!-St. Joseph’s Day Jazz
At Houma’s House, March 20th

“Having the Assunto Dukes Tribute Band headline the St. Joseph’s Jazz Festival at Houmas House & Garden Amphitheater was a fabulous way to have Louisiana’s first festival since the Covid shut down one-year ago.
As individual musicians all the members of the Assunto Dukes Tribute are spectacular.
As a band their music brings happiness and instills the positive energy of Jazz.
Their short explanation of the history of each song puts the listener in a wonderful setting of exuberance and anticipation of the uplifting sounds to follow.
The Italian Community was honored to have them perform at our St. Joseph’s Jazz Festival and Louisiana is well served to have them be the band to bring back our world known festival season.” -Charles Marsala, President
American Italian Federation of the Southeast.

“The team was RAVING today about you, the band, and the performance!”

That was the word after a special, coast to coast “on demand” 1 hour performance by The Assunto Dukes Tribute, February 26th. It was a first time ever, live, “Virtual Mardi Gras” event, broadcast from The Assunto Estate in Metairie. Special thanks to our friends and colleagues in New York for helping to make it all happen!

A special treat for the crowd at the February 20th driveway concert! I was a perfect weather day, and the band was really rolling, with the special highlight of Lila joining her mom Lexie for a special rendition of Jazz Me Blues!

It was perfect weather for the 3rd “Dukes Driveway” concert series December 19th. The band sounded great, with Pete Hittle, Alex Canales, Marc “Mojo” Joseph, Jim Syoen, and special guest Leslie Martin on piano. New Orleans legend Ryan Burrage even played a few tunes. More concerts in early 2021!

Great fun October 1st, as “The Assunto Dukes and Friends” performed the first of many  upcoming “driveway” concerts at the Deano and Grayce Assunto estate in Metairie. WAY too many people to thank here.  More to come!

Comments from the May 26th “Facebook Live” Concert!

The Assunto Dukes had 3 performances in May, 2 of which were “Facebook Live” performances.  We had viewers from across the U.S., and in at least three countries overseas.  We had as much fun onstage as we did afterward!  Thanks to our sponsors Jan and Mark Robicheaux for great food and libations!

Fun night again at The Starlight on January 23rd.  Thanks to all who came out despite the rainy weather all day!

Another GREAT crowd with many new faces at The Starlight on January 2nd.  Here is Lexie Assunto singing Jazz Me Blues from the great show.  Thank to our friend Bennett for the video!
